I am SO talented

I can eat off of a fork, very nicely. I am a Queen, after all.
If I had opposable thumbs, I would have NO need for the humans.
I just need to convince them to set me a place at the table.

Treat dispenser

The humans went to an event (without me, by the way) and won a basket full of dog treats. They're making me share some of them with Ray and Isis, but one of them is MINE MINE MINE.
It's a treat dispenser! I just nose it around, and treats pop out.
And I haven't even chewed it into pieces yet.
Look how cool!

LOOK at all this stuff

OK, now look at all this stuff that is coming to the house. It's all for the hike. They won't let us have ANY.
Except, if you note, in the second photo, Isis did get 3 bags out for us.
But still, like a zillion boxes there, we can't have 1???
It's so not fair.

New blogger

I recently met a new blogger via Meeshka's site. Her name is Bama. Stop by and visit. She and her siblings are pretty good at terrorizing the humans.
Welcome to blogging, Bama!

I tag everyone

I'm not tagging anyone in particular, but I want everyone who reads this to tell their story on their blog, so spread the word, OK?
How did you come to be with the humans you own?
I went to live with my humans in April of 1999. My human mom said she went to the Humane Society to help her sister in law pick out a dog. She wasn't looking for a dog for herself. Little did she know...
She and the human dad had planned on going to a pet store (can you believe it??) to get a Siberian Husky, because they didn't think there were purebred dogs in shelters. Geez, they are stupid.
She walked in, I was on the second cage to the left. Who can resist a beautiful, bi-eyed black and white Siberian Husky? I immediately pegged her as a human I could manipulate, so I decided I wanted to go home with her. I gave her The Look, and she was hooked. She walked up the aisle, then back down, and I kept looking at her.
Then she called the human dad and told him about me. Apparently adoption hours were over, so they came back first thing the next morning, as soon as the shelter opened.
I was at the shelter for a while, and they were talking about calling husky rescue to take me. So I took matters into my own hands.
They decided when I came home they weren't going to let any dogs up on the furniture. Guess how long THAT lasted.
I taught them all the proper Siberian Husky ways. I pulled on leash, I knocked over the big plant (3 times) and dug up the carpet behind the plant. I dug holes in the yard and snuck in next doors yard to play with their Beagle and their Boxer. I stole cantaloupe, fudge, Motrin, candles, books, phonebooks, and my human's wedding shoes 2 weeks before the wedding. I took their stuff off the tables and hid them under my chair.
Then, just when they would get totally frustrated with me, I would turn on the cute. The "pet me" look, the belly up for rubs...and they weren't mad anymore.
So, that's how I came to run Sashaville, here in Philadelphia.
What's your story?

Tagged

I got tagged by Quincy and Tristin to answer 5 questions.
Here they are:

Where is your favorite place to sleep??
I think I"ve posted this pic, but here in the bathroom, around the toilet, in the way.

Is there a specific trick your humans make you do to get treats??
We have an understanding. Give me the treat, and I don't claw you.

If you could spend an entire day doing anything at all with anyone what would you do and with whom??
I would wake up, in the human bed. They would be on the floor on the dog beds. For breakfast, I would have liverwurst in bed. Then I would ride, in the front seat with no seatbelt, to the dog park, where only Sasha-approved dogs would be allowed. Next, a shopping trip to the grocery store. Forget the pet store. I want my treats to come from the butcher. I'd like some chicken, fliet mignon, shrimp, turkey, perhaps a nice salmon, and of course cheese and liverwurst. Some ice cream for dessert. After the humans make lunch from what we purchased, I would take a nap in the bay window. Perhaps snack on a hardback book or two. Then I would beat up Isis and Ray Charles, without getting yelled at by the humans. I would go in and out all day without the humans complaining about having to open the doors constantly for me. Next, midafternoon snack. Then a nap, and dinner. Then and I would go out and play in the snow for a while, since of course if it's me day, it would have snowed, followed by a bedtime snack. Then I would sit down, at my own computer, and blog about the day.

What is your favorite toy??
I don't play with toys. Unless Isis is having fun with one, then I want that.

If you could change one thing in your life. What would you change??
The humans would never get on my sofa or bed.

Let's see, I tag the Kapp Pack, Doodles, and Dakota.

SO not fair

Yesterday, 2 good smelling packages came in the mail addressed to the humans, but smelled like they were for us.
One had Wysong dog food samples, the other had YUMMY CHUMMIES. Obviously they're for us, so I waited for our treats. And waited. And waited.
Apparently they were for the hike and NOT for us.
Well, I'm hiking, so I should get some. Apparently it's not working that way. They are going to go in goodie bags for the hikers, and into raffle baskets. Apparently I'll be buying a lot of raffle tickets. Maybe Isis can break into the box, like she did with those other treats (also for the hike, there are boxes of treats down there, taunting us)
I made the human mom go order us some YUMMY CHUMMIES. So if they come soon, maybe I won't claw her.
They better come soon....

Blogathon 2007

Just wanted to remind everyone that Meeshka will need everyone's support for Blogathon 2007! Can you believe it starts this Saturday?
Meeshka will be staying up for 24 hours blogging every 1/2 hour.
She's going to need our help to stay awake.
So I will be staying up with her.
And it's not too late to pledge to Meeshka, either!
Good luck to Steve, Kat and Wilbur, who are also blogging for Adopt A Husky of Dallas.

My favorite books

Holly has tagged me to list my 5 favorite books. OK, this is a tough one, but I'll give it my best.
1) The Yellow Pages phone book. I like the texture, there's lots to eat, and it makes a huge mess on the floor when it's well-scattered.
2)Cookbooks!! They look so good, and the stupid humans won't cook any of that for me.
So why have cookbooks around? I eat 'em every chance I get.
3) Hardbacks. I love the hardback covers. Yum! (I do have to say I'm partial to James Patterson novels, largely because they are on the bottom shelf of the bookcase and easy to reach)
4) Yearbooks. My human mom left her high school yearbook out once. I only got to eat the spine, but it wasn't bad. Well-aged.
5) Files. OK, not exactly a book. But the humans keep track of rescue dogs here. Leave a file out, it's lunchtime.
I tag Georgie and Magic, Quincy and Tristin, and Girl Girl

Time capsule

Indy tagged me to list 5 things I would put in a time capsule. At first I thought they meant 5 things I would put away, never to come back. That's easy.
1) Thunder
2) Fireworks
3) Tshirts
4) Baths
5) Dog Brushes
Actually, there are a lot more things I want to put in there....
However, apparently the 5 things are my 5 favorite things.
Which is a little trickier.

1) My couch (without Isis taking up all the room)
2) My bay window, where I love to look out (you can see it in the photo above my couch)
3) Chicken Jerky!
4) Liverwurst (thanks to Ray for the liverwurst, he's the one who won't eat his creaky dog pills in anything else!)
5) Ice Cream

Isis looks like an idiot

At Horsham Day on Saturday, someone was giving away stupid head things. Of course the humans felt compelled to bring them home and try them on Isis. They didn't even think of trying it on me. Isis should be ashamed of herself for letting them get away with this. She is an anti-husky. I'm embarrassed to be seen with her.
She also let them put a tshirt on her at events.
I don't know what to do with her.
Sasha, with Isis, making me embarrassed to be a husky

My big weekend

Yesterday I got to go to Horsham Day, which is an event that Harnessed to Hope Northern Breed Rescue goes to. There were lots of dogs to butt sniff with, and lots of people to mooch food from. I got to hang with Magic and Georgie too, since they went to the event. Georgie seems to be feeling better, by the way.
It was HOT at the event, so my human mom went to WaWa and got me an ice cream cup. That helped me cool off for sure.
And today, I had brussels sprouts. Yum!!
Oh, and Meeshka's stupid human woman finally got my information on the hike site.
Go there, click on pledge information, then find ME if you want to sponsor me.
AND Xia is home. She's the one with the broken leg. Turns out they could fix it, so she just had surgery that cost $1800. That would've bought me a LOT of biscuits, I think.
PLUS a rescue person just went and got a mom and 3 pups from somewhere called North Carolina. They're in a foster home mow. I like puppies, I think my human mom should go get one for me.
So that's it, I had a big weekend today, lots to report.

Slogan!

Quincy and Tristin clued me into this cool website where you can make a slogan out of your name!
Mine, is, obviously, "Wouldn't you like to be a Sasha too?"
Of course, who wouldn't want to be a Sasha? However, sorry for all of you, there is only one Sasha.
My Sasha movie quote is "You can't handle the Sasha!"
Another true and obvious quote.
So everyone get out there and sloganize!!

Hurt puppy

Harnessed to Hope Northern Breed Rescue just took in a 7-8 month old puppy.
Apparently she has a broken leg, and some humans tied her to the door of the SPCA.
They thought they'd have to cut her leg off (euw) but it turns out they're gonna pin it back together.
But this pinning stuff is apparently expensive, and requires a big operation, and vet visits, and other annoying things.
So thanks to everyone who's sponsored Meeshka in Blogathon, since that money is going to be going to little Xia's surgery.
And I imagine a lot of the money from that hike thing will go to her as well. Apparently none will go to my biscuit fund or my liverwurst fund. Sigh. So thanks to all who are supporting Meeshka at blogathon, and me for the hike, cause it's going to a good cause.
Just for the record, I'm bored today.
I've stomped on the humans, stomped Isis (who won't play with me) clawed the humans a few times, and now I'm bored.
It's too hot to go outside and play, there's nothing to do in the house, and I'm bored, bored, bored. Someone come over and play with me, or I'll have to go back to human clawing, which is now boring too.
Stupid heat, stupid Isis, stupid Ray, stupid everything.

Thanks, Holly!

Thanks yet again to Holly for being my first official hike sponsor!!
If the humans are gonna drag me out to hike, I may as well try to make as much as I can, right?
Pledges can be via Paypal to hthnbr@gmail.com
Or mailed to
HTHNBR

I'm a rocking girl blogger!!!

Thanks to Holly for nominating me to be a rocking girl blogger! If you know someone who is a cool girl blogger, you nominate them. Then they nominate 7 people (or dogs) and so on.
Just right click on the rocking girl blogger button, click save, then put it in your blog!
I nominate Storms and Amber of the Army of 4, Girl Girl, MayaMarie, Kelsey Ann, Opy, and Penny and Lola, from the Dogs of Jackman Avenue! I know that's 8, but 8 is my lucky number, and you all rock!!

I met my blog friend Magnum!

I FORGOT TO TELL YOU!!
I met Magnum Saturday.
The humans went to check out Norristown Farm Park, where Mapaw Siberian Husky Rescue, Delaware Valley Siberian Husky Rescue and Harnessed to Hope Northern Breed Rescue are sponsoring a hike, and they brought Ray, Isis and I along.
Magnum was there with his human Mike, and we got to buttsniff and pee on top of each other's peespots.
I also got to meet Brandi, who lives with Kathy of Mapaw, but she's older and I didn't get too close. I know how to respect my elders.
So I had a fun Saturday, got to meet new friends, and saw Nero, who's Isis's friend (they both look alike!)
Maybe this whole "hike" thing won't be that bad.

Hike pledges

OK, as I mentioned, the humans are making me hike on September 1.
I am looking for dogs to pledge for my hike. You can either mail it or Paypal it.
Mail goes to
HTHNBR
PO Box 21202
Philadelphia, PA 19114
Or pay via Paypal
Just let me know you pledge, so I can keep an eye out for it.
All the money of course goes to the rescue dogs with HTHNBR. I would really prefer that it go to my biscuit fund, but what can you do.
I'm also trying to talk Meeshka into coming to the hike and hiking with me.
All my blog friends are invited!! Let's have a dogblog party in PA!!
More info will be available at Harnessed to Hope's site
And I'll have to remember to post a picture of myself looking extra-fluffy after my stupid bath. I'm not Meeshka-fluffy, but still.
BTW, for some reason I can't put a stupid title on this post. I'll try later.

Weekend update

So every freaking night they need to set off fireworks? Really, is this necessary?
I have banned them from Sashaville, but apparently everyone hasn't heard.
So everyone, do keep Meeshka in your thoughts. Her air conditioning vent stopped working today!!! Oh, and she had to go to the vet.
So like this weekend wasn't bad enough with all the stupid noise. the humans gave us a bath. All of us. Now I look like I have mange, with lumps of hair sticking out all over.
Yesterday, Isis pulled a good HULA maneuver. She ate into a huge cardboard box full of treats, and got 3 little bags out. Apparently they're supposed to be for the hike goodie bags but she broke in and got some out for us!
And thanks to everyone supporting Meeshka for the blogathon. She has made nearly $1200 in pledges!
Keep up the good work, and keep the pledges and support for Meeshka coming.
I have offered to stay up with Meeshka for the 24 hours, in a show of support.
I will not blog as often as her, but I will have something to say occasionally.
Now, let me get back to drying myself on the human's bed.

I hate fireworks

Sigh.
Stupid fireworks

Support Meeshka

So Blogathon 2007 is up and running!
On July 28, Meeshka will be blogging every half hour for 24 whole hours. No naps (except in between half hour blogs), no dinner break (has to scarf her food)
for a whole day!
And all the money she gets from huskies and people sponsoring her goes right to helping the dogs at Harnessed to Hope Northern Breed Rescue, Inc.
You can click this link then register and it should bring you to her blog.
Or go to the Blogathon site which is alphabetical and find Meeshka's world, then click sponsor.
Plus, Meeshka says she has lots of cool prizes for sponsors, and she'll raffle them off during the blogathon!
So let's all show our support for the selfless Meeshka, and get the human's credit cards and get Meeshka LOTS of sponsors! Spread the word!
OOH, and I forgot to mention, you don't even NEED to steal the human's card to pay.
You pledge the money, and pay after the blog! By then, the humans won't realize you did it, they'll think THEY pledged and forgot!
So get a hold of the computer, and pledge for Meeshka! She made $1000 last year, let's see if she can do better this year.

DOGPARK AGAIN

Today I decided to let the humans sleep till 8! Then I clawed one side of the bed, then the other, then back to the first side, until they made room for me.
The human mom finally sat up so I could take over her pillows.
It's nice and cool today, so they decided to take Isis and I to the DOGPARK!!!! There were lots of dogs there. We played a while. That little dog there loved to play chase, so Isis and I chased him all over. Here is Isis running. Since she doesn't have a blog of her own, I'll let her stick her video on mine.

After the DOGPARK, we walked South Street and got pretzels and Irish Water Ice.
Yum!

New bloggers

BTW, Quincy and Tristin, both adopted from Harnessed to Hope Northern Breed Rescue, have gotten hold of the human's computer and have their own blog!
Quincy was a 4 week old puppy with parvo, which is something apparently very bad, but he is very good at getting into trouble.
Tristin was very scared when he came into rescue, but Quincy is teaching him how to be a husky and wreak havoc.
So stop by and say hi to them!
Sasha, happy to add two new friends to our world domination efforts.

I've been tagged

OK, Sitka and Tia tagged me to talk about the human mom and dad. Really, they're not as important as me, but OK, I'll talk about them.
I'm their first husky. Now, of course, they're ruined for huskies forever, because none will be as perfect as me. Too bad for them.
Apparently they both always wanted a husky. They didn't know about rescues so they were going to go to a pet store (bad places, avoid 'em) to get a husky puppy.
The human mom went to the shelter with a friend who was getting a dog. They walk in, and look at the second cage on the left, and VOILA! It was me. I saw right away that I could train her well, so I wooed and looked cute a lot. She quickly called the human dad and told him about me. Adoption hours were over, so they came as soon as the shelter opened the next day to get me. I've been busy training them ever since.
They both are very active in rescue. They were two of the founding members of Harnessed to Hope Northern Breed Rescue. That means they take dogs from shelters and stuff and find good homes for them. Sometimes they come to stay here. Once I explain they're in Sashaville, and I'm the queen, things usually go well.
When they're not adoring me or doing rescue, my human mom is a nurse, and human dad does something called "environmental consulting". Whatever.
We live in Philadelphia, PA. They have known each other for 10 years and I've been with them for 8 years.
Recently the human mom's parents moved in with us, and that was a jackpot. THEY
are even better trained than my mom and dad. They give us treats anytime they go in the treat hallway, and are the keepers of the liverwurst treat we get at night.
I tag Girl Girl and Holly.
